Group 2's Learning Journey: Day 1

Cantus Angelicus
We are very excited about our overseas trip to Genting Highlands, Malaysia. We are going there to participate in the inaugural Cantus Angelicus – Festival of Choirs. We are looking forward to attending the workshops that are going to be conducted by the renowned choral clinicians as well as performing at the Friendship Concert.

Cantus Angelicus means “the song of the angels” in Latin. We hope to be enriched and inspired during this Festival of Choirs and who knows, we may even leave the place with our own angelic voices.

Our journey to Genting Highlands

We met at Seng Kang Secondary School on 16th November 2009 at 6.45 a.m. We took a few photographs, then left at 7.30 a.m. We crossed the Immigration Checkpoints, travelled north, then stopped at Yong Peng for a snack. Then, we proceeded towards Genting Highlands.

The trip to Genting was also enjoyable with Mr Lim, our conductor. He cracked jokes and played games with us throughout our journey. Although the bus trip was long and tiring, we still enjoyed it. ;)

Arrival at Genting Highlands

We arrived at the First World Hotel in Genting Highlands around 4 p.m. We checked into the hotel, then went for our first practice. We think that the SKY choir can really bond and improve as we learn during this trip.
